MCPID changing to MCID (just a vocabulary change)

Posted by Rubel Khan on March 9, 2010

Minor change is on your way how Microsoft talks about their certification.  Microsoft is moving away from the term. “Microsoft Certified Professional ID,” referring instead to “Microsoft Certification ID.”

As Ken Rosen referred in his blog post, it’s a vocabulary change, nothing more. Our “MCPID” or new term “MCID” number will remain same. Microsoft is just dropping the “P” from the name.  We may see both terms in use for next few weeks as Microsoft transits.
