News from the Master world!

Posted by Rubel Khan on August 19, 2009

Hi All,

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve posted, and this is actually the first post by me on the v2.0 of Born To Learn…looks nice. To reintroduce myself: I’m Per Farny, Director of Advanced Training and Certification in Microsoft Learning, and I own the Master and MCA programs.

For those that don’t know, we maintain a Master specific blog in addition to periodically posting over here to keep you up to date, and this is one of those times where it’s time to get you up to speed, so here we go!

First, we had a great first year for our Master programs. We trained just over 250 people and the satisfaction of the training was incredible: we had NSAT (net satisfaction scores which means take those that said very satisfied, subtract those that were very dissatisfied, and add 100…any other choices don’t count) of 193, 194, 188, etc. with an average of all of our deliveries at 179! I believe we see around 150 on average for other instructor led training, so to have these numbers out of the gate, including evaluations from betas, well, I’m very proud of the team for what they created and delivered. We also now have 350 Certified Masters across all programs (we grandfathered some prior ‘Rangers’ into the Master communities), so all in all – a great year first year for the programs!

We have some upcoming program changes, too:

  • Based on consistent feedback, our Windows Server 2008 R2 program which is debuting this fall, will be 2 weeks total in duration, not 3. Read all about that here. Price is adjusted accordingly also.
  • We’ll debut SharePoint 2010 and Exchange 2010 MCM programs in the spring! Have a read as to why you shouldn’t wait for those and how it makes total sense to take advantage of our 2007 rotations (trust me, it really does)!

Finally, we’re offering some new discounts!

  • Save US$1,000 on the Microsoft Certified Master: Windows Directory 2008 R2 program
  • A special MVP discount for our SQL program: get $8,550 off for a limited time if you’re an MVP!
  • Save US$3,550 on any other Microsoft Certified Master program of your choice

We’ve posted the latest dates for our training on our website, so you can register now to hold your seat!

That’s all for now, let me know if you have any questions!
